UWA unveils a biodiversity Lab at Queen Elizabeth National Park

As the tourism and nature conservation sector picks itself up from the COVID-19 demises, the Uganda Wildlife Authority is building for the future.

The Uganda wildlife Authority- a body responsible for all national parks and other natural biodiversities in Uganda has unveiled a new level 2 biodiversity lab. This is a project to improve the scientific research of living species found in the park so that they can be conserved, managed and protected better. The facility was unveiled by the minister of tourism, Hon. Tom Butiime and Chairman Board of Trustees Dr. Pataleon Kasoma in the ceremony held at Mweya safari Lodge, a luxury accommodation facility in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

The lab facility was constructed within Mweya, a popular tourism information center in Queen Eliza the National park.

Queen Elizabeth National park, the medley of wonders is one of the most exciting game parks in Uganda. It offers its visitors enthralling tourism activities like game viewing experiences in its savannah grasslands, boat ride at Kazinga channel, Chimpanzee trekking at Kyambura gorge, and tree climbing lions trekking at Ishasha .

The place is a home to over 80 animal species and 610 birds, making it one of the most rich natural habitats in Africa in terms of biodiversity. The setting up of the biodiversity lab is such a great feat to both the tourism and nature conservation world.
